A normal adolescent that lives a calm and colorful life. That is me. I am David Aeron Y. Arellano, aged 15. I was born at Gabriela Silang General Hospital, now Ilocos Sur Provincial Hospital - Gabriela Silang, in the City of Vigan, Ilocos Sur. I am currently residing at the City of Vigan with my parents and three elder sisters. For my elementary education, I studied at Vigan Nan Chong School and fortunately, I graduated as the Class Valedictorian of our class. For my secondary education, I am currently enrolled at Ilocos Sur National High School, under the Science, Technology, and Engineering program of the institution. Even though I am just a simple teenager normally roaming the historic halls of ISNHS and busy streets of Vigan, there are numerous interesting things people do not know about me.
I am the youngest among us four, and I am the only male sibling my sisters have. I go by different nicknames, “Shoti” when I am around my family, “Ae” with my friends and acquaintances, and simply “Aeron” with my teachers and classmates. I am known by my family, friends, and acquaintances as a competitive, curious, trustworthy, frank, adventurous, amiable, and a well-driven person. When I say adventurous, it also means that I am a risk-taker. I grab most of the opportunities given to me because I was once taught that as long as it is good and right for me, I should receive it, and I think these opportunities helped me grow more as a mature human being. I can also speak four languages - Ilokano, Filipino, English, and Mandarin Chinese. In our school, I am the Class President of our section, 10-Maxwell. I think this duty and responsibility will play a crucial part for my growth and the improvement of my decision-making skills as I will learn more in establishing effective decisions not only for my good, but for the betterment of everyone. On the other hand, when people ask me what is my favorite color, I say the color green - as it represents growth, progress, nature, and hope for a better future. I love things associated with nature, such as trees, rivers, mountains, waterfalls, and beaches. I also love things associated with history and geography. I want to rediscover and know more about the things that happened in the past that became a vital part in our rich history. Just like everyone, I also have goals and dreams in life. Some of my goals at the moment are to graduate and finish my secondary education very satisfactorily; and to have high and passing grades so that me and my parents' hardships and sacrifices will not be put onto waste. Also, when I grow up, I want to become Dr. Arellano someday. I am planning to take Medicine as my course in the future and pursue my dream to become a licensed medical doctor someday.
I am still 15 years old, enjoying the so-called “teenage life”, and I can say that I am living a vibrant and meaningful life. I have a different character and personality, a glad and optimistic one, that makes me unique from everyone. I dare to dream big goals and dreams in life where I am very much aware that there are many hills and bumps in life waiting for me that can hinder my plans and passion, but with my determination, optimism, patience, and undying faith to God, I am confident that I will be able to pass through these obstacles and achieve these dreams of mine. Nothing can extinguish the burning passion instilled inside me, because this is me. A risk-taker. A dreamer. David Aeron Y. Arellano, he who dares and dreams.
